What to Do Next 1.) Now, this may be obvious, but I want to encourage you to take a moment and commit your business to the Lord. Don't take this opportunity for granted. Give thanks and pray!
2.) Consider your commitment level and mission in life. How committed are you to growing your business? Any answer is okay, so long you are honest with yourself. Take a Moment and Imagine... Consider your life. Imagine 10 to 20 years into the future. What do you want to look back on? What do you want to have accomplished? I want to encourage you to think big, but don't just "dream." Think about your family, your friends, your personal reach for Christ. What do you want to be known for? What do you want them to be because of your influence on them. Make it a reality. Are you going to use these next 10 to 20 years to get out of debt, stay home and raise your kids, save for retirement or send a kid to college, or maybe it's to provide your "Green Gables" dream home for your children to come home to and to bring your grandchildren to? Remember, don't just dream. This is not something you are going to "try" to do. This is something you are "going" to do. Independance doesn't come free. It takes commitment and effort. So, I ask you,... What is your commitment level?
3.) Domain Names... Do you want your own .com? Now, you may be thinking that your bookstore name is a little long with ".spreadtheword." in the middle of the address. If that's the case, you can do what is called a redirect. It requires registering a domain name from an outside company. It will cost about $8.95 per year. It is nice to use the shorter web site address on your business cards. Let me give you an example of how a redirect works. My daughter's site is www.ChristianFamilyBookstore.spreadtheword.com. She has chosen to optimize her site for music. Instead of putting on her cards the full www.ChristianFamilyBookstore.spreadtheword.com address, she puts on her cards www.cfbmusic.com. It takes them straight to the her site.
To register a domain name 1.) go to www.KingsDomains.com 2.) Do a search for the name you want 3.) Scroll down and click "Continue" 4.) Register for a new account.
How to redirect the domain name to your STW site 1.) Just log into your KingsDomains.com account 2.) Click on "Manage Account" 3.) Check the small box to the left of your domain name 4.) Click on "Forwarding" 5.) Type in your store address into the forwarding address box. Simply forward to http://YourStoreName.spreadtheword.com. (Please do not "mask," and do not add "www.") Then, click "Save"
:-) You're done!
4.) Start sharing your business right away... Share your bookstore with just 3 new people a day! Pass out your cards, call a friend. Let people you're in business. Share with them your story of why you started your own business.

It could be as simple as passing out a business card, calling and sharing the opportunity with a friend, of going online to discover how to generate business online. Here is what I say when I share my bookstore. I share that "I own an online Christian bookstore and that I am in the ministry of helping others set-up a bookstore of their own." - Business Cards... You may want to order business cards. If advertising the business opportunity, STW asks that you use Spread the Word specific business cards. However, if advertising your bookstore, you may customize your business cards specific to your bookstore. Visit Vista Print for some great deals! - Search Engine Submission... Customize your store and submit it to the search engines. Submitting to to the main search engines only takes a moment and is free. 5.) Very Important! You are now a business entrepreneur. Get a business calendar / day planner and mark your important business building calls (see the schedule below). Organization is key. You will not have a boss lording over you and telling you what to do. You are the boss. "Hire" yourself to do what you need to do. Also, schedule and set aside specific times that you will commit to working your store. Use this time to make a list of people you know. Contacting them and "Share, Show, and Invite." Share with them that you have a new business, show them your store, invite them to join you on a business overview conference call.
The very BEST way to stay informed and up-to-date is to join the conference calls. If you are not on these calls you will missing out on important business updates! The schedule consist of 5 main calls. Please take a moment and note them on your calendar.
